About Basildon District Swimming Club
Basildon District Swimming Club (BDSC) is a non-profit making, friendly, competitive swimming club that has served Basildon & the surrounding District since 1962. We provide a wide range of teaching & coaching sessions suitable for most swimming abilities.
The aims of the club are to promote the sport of swimming by providing a structured teaching and training program to help swimmers reach their full potential according to their individual levels of ambition, ability and application.
To best achieve this Basildon District Swimming Club combine our own experiences along with the utilisation of the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) to formulate all our teaching plans. You can find out more about this in our [TEACHING] section.
To deliver these sessions we have a team of very experienced, professional and dedicated Coaches and Teachers that monitor and oversee each swimmers progress. All Teachers hold ASA qualifications and are well supported behind the scenes by an enthusiastic team of volunteers and Committee members that enable poolside staff to fully concentrate on the swimmers.
Basildon District Swimming Club provide teaching lessons for children of around 6 years upward and training sessions for our competitive swimmers is provided within our Academy, Rookie & Senior Squad structure. Basildon District Swimming Club regularly compete in various grade galas within the County, East Region and Nationally. We also hold our own club galas and regular time trials with prizes and awards up for grabs. But it's not all hard work; we still manage to squeeze in some fun sessions.
Basildon District Swimming Club also offer a number of training sessions for adults (Masters) and older children that are not able to commit to the minimum squad commitments but are looking for sessions that will push them that little bit harder. We are very lucky to have an active Water Polo section catering for both adults & children, everyone is welcome to come and try.
