BDSC have been successful in their application to make Achievement Awards to their club members.
Background
The Jack Petchey Foundation was established by the successful East London entrepreneur, Jack Petchey, in 1999. It is a young, progressive grant making Trust based in Ilford Essex. It is now among the largest and most influential London charitable foundations. It focuses on projects and programmes that benefit 11-25 year olds. The main area of operation is the London boroughs and Essex, where it currently operates in 1600 secondary schools and youth clubs. Criteria
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme was formed to recognise "extreme endeavour and to help young people to help themselves". Throughout the year we are able to award individuals (aged 11-25) who have demonstrated characteristics such as commitment, hard work, persistence or those that have made a positive contribution to the club and/or other people.
The Award
Each award winner will receive a framed certificate and an invitation to a regional award ceremony at which they will be presented with a Jack Petchey medallion. The winner will also be given a financial award to be used to fund one or more projects from the BDSC 'wish list'.
Nominations
We welcome nominations from anyone within the club, please pick one up from the front desk on a Monday Club night.
